"You cannot go against the future. You have to anticipate it. This car is the car of the future ...". He said it plainly, thus justifying his choice and collecting the keys to his new electric car after buying it. The vehicle in question is the mighty Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, with up to 610 km of electric range. And his name is Pedro Garcia, an energetic 87-year-old, a living emblem of the fact that it is never too late to choose modern and revolutionary technologies.

The Ford Italia website told a remarkable story. After driving a lifetime of petrol-driven cars, Mr. Garcia has built a close relationship with a dealership team in Alicante, Spain.

Dealership salespeople made sure Pedro Garcia was among the first to see the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, and when its style won him over, they also made sure he was one of their first customers to buy the new electric SUV. Since then, they have followed Pedro step by step to help him get to know him better and adapt to his new car.

Not that he needed much help: the most skeptical were thinking of the difficulties that, at his age, he might have encountered in switching to an electric and high-tech vehicle, while Mr. Garcia quickly got used to this new way of driving and interpreting the car. Charging, in particular, is something Pedro adapted quickly to. With a wall box installed in his home, he now connects the electric car easily at night to wake up in the morning with the vehicle fully charged. "What I like most - he said - is that you don't have to go to the gas station. They installed a column in my house, I load it there, and that's the end of the story".

The Spanish enthusiast is probably the oldest buyer of a Ford Mustang Mach-E: "The future must always be anticipated."

So, paradoxically or not, but a driver in the older category seems to have been conquered by an electric car faster than many other young people do. Did he discover something that young people don't see, or maybe he has greater wisdom of life than the others?
