Simona Halep, a two-time Grand Slam champion, has split from her long-time trainer Darren Cahill. As the former world number one stated on Twitter on Wednesday, the decision was made by mutual consent "after six amazing years."
The Romanian Simona Halep, who is coached by an Australian ex-professional, won the French Open in 2018 and Wimbledon the following year. Most lately, the 29-year-old has been hampered by ailments and has dropped to 14th position in the global rankings. Halep was knocked out in the round of 16 at the US Open.
