Cyberpunk and utopian aesthetics are both represented in this gaming phone. There seems to be an unspoken rule about standard design practices for gaming peripherals and accessories. The chassis is primarily black, except for a few RGB lights that stand out like neon at night. If you're getting visions of cyberpunk environments, you're not far from the aesthetic most games aim for. There are alternative ways of thinking about our future, hopeful ways, and feature cleaner, brighter aesthetics. The ASUS Republic of Gamers has released a new gaming phone with a design that, according to the company, breaks away from the cyberpunk style in favor of something more futuristic and cosmic.

There are Pro and non-Pro variants of the ASUS ROG Phone 6, each with a distinct design. However, while ASUS claims that both have refined looks, this is only truly noticeable in one. To a certain extent, the ASUS ROG Phone 6's black color scheme harkens back to earlier models. Its back is covered in a variety of shapes and lines, most of which are crooked or off-center. This visual chaos conveys the creature's vivaciousness and unique personality. The RGB dot-matrix display is another throwback feature typical of cyberpunk designs.

On the other hand, the ROG Phone 6 Pro is only available in "Storm White". It features a radical departure from ROG's previous aesthetics in favor of an optimistic and space-focused vision of the future. It's easier on the eyes because there's less clutter and more harmony in the geometric shapes and lines. A new color screen on the phone's side can show full images and animations, much like the flashy HUDs seen in science fiction props. The design style of the phone's accessories is the same. They are primarily white with some black accents and maybe some RGB highlights.

The ASUS ROG Phone 6 may have a futuristic design, but it has some welcome retro features. Although it is becoming increasingly rare on modern smartphones, the 3.5 mm headphone jack is still present in some older models. The top and bottom bezels of the phone are skinny, and there is no notch or innovative under-display camera. Playing a game in landscape mode also provides some "dead space" for the player's palms. Since the player's hands will be in the way of the jack for headphones, some players may switch to wireless Bluetooth models.

Hardware-wise, the ASUS ROG Phone 6 is on par with other gaming-oriented smartphones. The processor's sustained performance will be measured by how well it deals with heat. The phone's design could start a new era of sleeker mobile gaming devices, which seems to be a growing trend in the gaming industry based on the latest console and PC games.
