The Ford Transit Custom, Europe's best-selling van, has won a gold medal for driver aid technologies in Euro NCAP tests. Ford is currently the only automaker with several gold-award-winning models in its portfolio. In addition, the Ford Transit received the highest score of all of the vans examined.

"We use every opportunity to enhance our customers' businesses, and it's encouraging that Ford's leadership in van safety has been validated in Euro NCAP tests."
The Ford Transit Custom's gold certification is the outcome of the increased number of safety-related technology. For example, a seatbelt reminder, among other features, was introduced to the model's standard equipment earlier this year.
The Ford Transit Custom vans will be the first to receive the new digital rearview mirror in 2022, with a view that is twice as large as a regular rearview mirror. This function is convenient in a van and extended cab types and minibusses, where the rearview is frequently limited. Vans now feature LED-illuminated roof rails to help with cargo security. Various practical options are available in the boot, such as a two-level floor under which storage boxes of various lengths may be fitted. The elegant Gray Matter is now known as a new exterior color for the Ford Transit Custom.
For the Ford Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom, a new 2.0 EcoBlue 150 hp diesel engine with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission is now available. The engine is also offered in conjunction with Ford's 48-volt mild hybrid system, which may boost the car's fuel economy by up to 5.9 percent in city driving.
The Ford Transit Custom van and Tourneo Custom minivan are this year's best-selling Ford van models in Europe. More than 120,000 models were registered during the first nine months of 2021.
