The new Skoda Fabia Hatchback is the most spacious in its class, has equipment and safety like larger cars and surprises with new Simply Clever solutions. All wrapped up in a new, aerodynamic design.

The Skoda Fabia is one of the favourites when young families need a spacious and economical mini car. In particular, the current Skoda Fabia Combi is popular because the compact station wagon happily transports a pram with wheels in its 530-litre boot.

The fourth generation of the Skoda Fabia has had its world premiere, and it is initially the hatchback model unveiled in Prague. The Combi model will follow further into the future.

The new Skoda Fabia Hatchback is built on the same MQB-A0 platform as Skoda SCALA and Skoda KAMIQ, and to that extent, it has given the minivan growth. The new Skoda Fabia is 111 mm longer and 48 mm wider, so it is now 4,108 mm long and 1,780 wide, just as the wheelbase has been increased 94 mm to 2,564 mm.

With Skoda's common sense of utilizing every millimetre, it provides the class of spacious car with plenty of space inside and trunk. Thus, the luggage compartment has grown by 50 litres so that it now holds 380 litres - just as much as in some middle-class cars - and if you fold the rear seat forward, there is a full 1,190 litres.

Minimum air resistance and wind noise

Another record in the mini-car class is the air resistance, which is as low as 0.28 Cw. It is achieved, among other things, that the air intake in the front bumper closes automatically when the engine does not need cooling, just as spoilers at the rear window and special inserts in selected alloy wheels contribute. But the good aerodynamics is primarily due to Skoda Fabia's new design, which continues Skoda's design language with athletic proportions, sculptural lines and narrow LED headlights and taillights with a crystal structure. A special design detail can be found on the front doors, where the lines in the body form a stylized version of the triangle in the Czech flag.

Even when sitting in the cabin, you experience Skoda's zeal in the design of the new Skoda Fabia Hatchback. Skoda has used a new method for aero-acoustic computer simulations to identify and eliminate wind noise from bodies and windows - e.g. by changing the position of the side mirrors.

The new Skoda Fabia is always online.

It's not only a quiet cabin you enjoy while driving - it's also a stylish cabin. The Skoda Fabia's interior spoils with a new and fresh design with many delicious details. Depending on the equipment level, you can choose between six different transverse decorative elements combined with fabric clothing stitching in contrasting colours.

In the instrument panel is a free-standing screen of up to 9.2-inch, just as the new Skoda Fabia can be equipped with a digital cockpit with a screen of 10.25-inch. More Skoda Fabia options are atmospheric ambient lighting, 2-zone Climatronic air conditioning, Apple CarPlay wireless, Phone Box with wireless charging, and a multifunction steering wheel with heating and heating in the windshield.

With built-in eSIM, the new 2021 Skoda Fabia is always online and provides access to a wealth of online services via Skoda Connect, just as you can download apps for the Amundsen infotainment system (optional), which can also be controlled with Skoda's digital assistant Laura, who understands and speaks your language.

The MQB-A0 platform also comes with passive and active safety in the same league as larger Skoda models. The new 2021 Skoda Fabia has Front Assist with extended protection for pedestrians and cyclists and has up to nine airbags. The optional Travel Assist combines Traffic Sign Recognition and adaptive cruise control and adapts the speed to the road and traffic conditions ahead. You can also choose Side Assist, which warns of oncoming cars when overtaking, and Maneuver Assist can keep an eye on obstacles in front of or behind the car when parking and brake automatically. Speaking of parking, the new Skoda Fabia is also available with Park Assist, so both parallel and booth parking is a breeze.

Fuel-efficient EVO engines

There is also news under the hood in the form of fuel-efficient EVO petrol engines, where the majority deliver more than 20 km / l (WLTP), and all live up to the Euro 6d standard for exhaust gases.

The smallest three-cylinder engines are 1.0 MPI EVO with 48 kW (65 hp) or 59 kW (80 hp), respectively, while the 1.0 TSI EVO turbo engine produces 70 kW (95 hp). All three have a 5-speed manual transmission.

1.0 TSI EVO with 81 kW (110 hp) is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, while DSG is standard for the four-cylinder engine 1.5 TSI EVO with 110 kW (150 hp). The latter engine provides the new FABIA Hatchback sporting performance at 0-100 km / h in 7.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 225 km / h.

43 Simply Clever solutions

The new Skoda Fabia is available with Isofix brackets in the front passenger seat in addition to the Isofix brackets in the rear seat. The front passenger seat also has another option in the form of a backrest, which can be folded forward so that you can transport extra-long objects in your Skoda Fabia Hatchback.

The folding passenger seat is one of a total of 13 Simply Clever solutions, which are new in Skoda Fabia. Some of them even premiere in the new Skoda Fabia Hatchback. This applies to a new, flexible storage curtain under the hat shelf. It can carry up to 3.5 kg and store jackets that you do not want to 'flash' on the back seat for burglars and do not want to put on a dirty trunk bottom. In total, the new Skoda Fabia Hatchback is available with as many as 43 Simply Clever solutions, which of course, include the ice scraper in the fuel cap. This Skoda classic innovation first saw the light of day in the new Skoda Fabia.

The new Skoda Fabia Hatchback will premiere at the beginning of 2022, and the new Skoda Fabia Combi will follow later. @via Skoda.
